Attila Ungi — Painter of Inner Worlds
Attila Ungi does not merely paint — he brings entire worlds to life. From childhood, he has been drawn to the mysterious order of forms and colors, to that invisible realm where the boundaries between imagination and reality dissolve.
His early work as a hand engraver and goldsmith instilled in him a profound respect for detail, craftsmanship, and the inner harmony of form. This foundation in traditional craftsmanship continues to shape his artistic vision.
His paintings do not seek to reproduce the external world. Instead, they reveal emotions and visions emerging from the deeper layers of the subconscious. His art becomes a mapping of the inner world — a visual language through which the soul finds expression.
In his work, the dreamlike atmosphere of Surrealism encounters the structural principles of Cubism, while different forms of abstraction open new dimensions of artistic expression. On his canvases, chaos and order, instinct and consciousness engage in a continuous dialogue. For him, abstraction is not a departure from reality, but a revelation of its hidden and symbolic dimensions.
From this creative process, a distinctive artistic universe has emerged: “Memory of Shallow Seas.” It is a personal visual language in which the ancient layers of nature, the collective unconscious, and individual sensitivity converge.
As the artist himself expresses it:
“My work gives form to my visions of ancient shallow seas — a pure, unrestrained immersion in the infinite diversity of creative life. I am a painter who brings his inner visions onto canvas, and, in truth, painting is as natural and essential to my existence as breathing.”

Ungi Attila — A belső világ festője
Ungi Attila nem csupán fest, hanem sajátos, belső világokat hív életre. Gyermekkora óta vonzzák a formák és színek titokzatos összefüggései, az a képzeletbeli tér, ahol a valóság és az álom határai elmosódnak.
Pályáját kézi vésnökként és ötvösként kezdte. Az iparművészetben elsajátított formai fegyelem, a részletek iránti érzékenység és a mesterségbeli igényesség festészetének is meghatározó alapja.
Festményei nem a látható világ hű másolatai. A tudatalatti mélyebb rétegeiből előbukkanó érzések, emlékek és látomások öltenek bennük formát. Alkotás közben nem előre megtervezett képet követ: a színek és formák ösztönösen alakítják egymást, és maga sem tudja előre, milyen mű születik meg.
Műveiben a szürrealizmus álomszerűsége, a kubizmus formai szemlélete és az absztrakció különböző változatai találkoznak. Festészete a belső világ felfedezésének és a szabad alkotásnak a tere.
Ebből az intuitív folyamatból bontakozik ki az „Ősi sekély tengerek emlékezete” — egy személyes képi világ, amelyben a természet ősi formáinak képzete és a tudatalatti látomásai fonódnak össze.
„Festés közben az ősi sekély tengerek világa jelenik meg a képzeletemben. Nem tudatosan építem fel a képet, és soha nem tudom előre, mi fog megszületni. Hagyom, hogy a látomásaim szabadon formát öltsenek a vásznon. A festészet számomra éppoly természetes, mint a lélegzés.”
